Logistics Optimization Techniques Applicable to a Haulage Materials Mine Located in Riohacha, Colombia
Abstract
This study highlights the importance of logistics as an optimization tool to improve and move towards the future. It is proposed as an impulse for the development of the department of La Guajira, especially in the context of mining companies that extract drag minerals, seeking to establish a quality management system in a way that impacts the performance of the company, productivity and solve possible logistical problems, therefore, it is expected to create a working environment in continuous improvement and proper management in different areas of the company, through the optimization of its logistics processes. The objective of the research is to establish the logistic optimization techniques that can be applied to the processes of a haulage materials mine located in Riohacha, La Guajira. The study focuses on a descriptive approach, with a non-experimental and field design. A total of 30 employees from the different locations of the mine were surveyed; an instrument that combined primary and secondary data sources was used to collect information. Criteria from logistics experts were used to ensure the validity and reliability of the study. As a result, multiple limitations were obtained in the efficiency indicators of logistics operations in the mining of haulage materials. This highlights the need to establish logistics techniques where the CPLA logistics management system, quality management and health and safety management stand out in order to work efficiently and effectively, thus generating the optimization of production processes. It is concluded that these optimization techniques act as powerful support tools to guide decision making and achieve satisfactory results in the mine's logistics management.
