Diferenças sexuais na ansiedade, depressão, estresse e consumo de álcool em atletas universitarios

Resumo

Os desportistas universitários enfrentam a necessidade de equilibrar os seus papéis de estudante e desportista durante a sua formação académica; além disso, fatores pessoais como o sexo e os estilos de vida podem afetar o seu desempenho e bem-estar. Propôs-se analisar as diferenças por sexo no que diz respeito à gestão do stress, às relações interpessoais, ao consumo de álcool e aos níveis de ansiedade, depressão e stress em desportistas universitários. Estudo descritivo-comparativo transversal realizado junto de 200 desportistas universitários de uma universidade pública de um estado do nordeste do México. Foram utilizadas três perguntas relacionadas com o consumo de risco do Questionário de Detecção de Álcool, a Escala de Depressão, Ansiedade e Stress-21 e as subescalas de relações interpessoais e gestão do stress do Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile-II. Os dados foram analisados com o programa SPSS v.25. Foram observadas diferenças nos níveis de depressão e stress no que diz respeito à frequência do consumo de álcool na amostra completa; associou-se a presença de dados de depressão a níveis mais baixos de estilos de vida relacionados com as relações interpessoais e a gestão do stress. Verificou-se uma tendência geral para a moderação no consumo de álcool. As mulheres desportistas universitárias apresentam pontuações mais elevadas em depressão, ansiedade e stress, revelando uma associação negativa com o estilo de vida relacionado com a gestão do stress, em comparação com os seus homólogos desportistas; embora apresentem uma associação positiva no que diz respeito às relações interpessoais.
